James loves my chili. It's his favorite thing that I make. If I ask him "What do you want for supper?" He's always thinking CHILI!
Who knows why... it's so simple, I just don't understand how someone could mess up chili! But he says it's the best he's ever had. And he's not one to suck-up.
All I use to make my chili is:
1.5lbs ground beef
2 28oz. cans crushed tomatoes
2 15.5oz cans beans (kidney, chili, cannellini...)
1 packet chili seasoning mix
Basil
Oregano
Onion flakes
I brown the ground beef with the onion flakes, while heating up the crushed tomatoes in a seperate pot. I add the beans to the sauce, too. Once the beef is browned, I drain any excess fat and add the beef to the sauce pot. I then stir and add the chili seasoning, the basil, and the oregano. I use chili seasoning packets because they have the right amount of flavor! I let this pot simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
That's it. I serve it and Jim eats dang near the whole pot that night, and it's a big pot for 2 people! The best part about this chili? Bringing it to work the next day as leftovers :)
