This was my first attempt at this recipe I found on Pinterest.
It is great, and super easy, as well as a lighter dessert option! (Which we need around here, with me trying to lose weight and Jim having diabetes.)
You will need:
2 16ounce bags of frozen fruit
1 box yellow or white cake mix
1 can of clear soda pop
I used a mixture of mango, peaches, and strawberries for my fruit, and white cake mix for the crust. For the soda pop, I used diet Mountain Dew, as that is all we have for pop in the house. (I'm trying to get Jim to quit pop entirely!)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Put frozen fruit in the bottom of a 9x13 pan. It is suggested not to use thawed fruit. Spread out evenly.
Take the dry cake mix, and sprinkle it all over the fruit, evenly. Use the whole bag/box of mix.
Then, grab your soda pop and pour it over the cake mix. Do not stir the cake mix and pop together, just pour it over.
Bake in the oven for about 45-50 minutes.
This really did turn out very yummy. I love it, Jim loves it, and Brittany is coming over now to try it. It's so easy, and is a lighter dessert, that it will be a regular in this house!
