My mouth is watering while I wait for the slow-cooker to beep.
If I could only choose one meat to eat the rest of my life, I would, without a doubt, choose chicken. Yes, it would be hard to never eat a Christmas ham again, or a Thanksgiving turkey, or a juicy steak, or beef stroganoff, but chicken tops it all. It's so versatile, too! Again, though, that's only if I had to choose. Thank goodness, I don't.

I can remember the first time I made this. The first bite was beyond delicious, and I knew, right away, that this would be a regular menu item in our house. Jim agreed.
We've had this over noodles, and we've served it over a toasted bun - both are worth venturing. It's one of those meals that you slowly eat, savoring each bite. And at the end, even though you're full, you still want more.
Okay. I think I made my point. I better move on or I will be tossing the lid off my slow-cooker and eating out of it with my bare hands.

Creamy Slow-Cooker Italian Chicken Over Noodles
You'll need:
3-4 chicken breasts, depending on size.
1 packet Italian dressing
1/4 cup water
1 can cream of chicken soup
8oz egg noodles
Some garlic powder
Some onion flakes
Self-control
Just kidding about that last ingredient. But you will need it. Resist the urge to eat the whole meal yourself.
Let's start now - I keep getting off track!
Put your chicken breasts in the slow-cooker. Mine were frozen, and that will be totally fine.
Pour your 1/4th cup water in.
Sprinkle your chicken with the packet of Italian dressing.

Put the lid on and slow-cook on low for 7-8 hours.
Hey, there's my favorite invention! And my favorite slow-cooker - I recommend it wholeheartedly!
Go enjoy life. Or go to work, like me.
7-8 hours pass...
Swing open the front door to your home and breathe in the smells. Ahhh....
Okay, that's enough, we have work to do.

Take the chicken breasts out of the cooker and place on a cutting board. Shred the chicken with 2 forks, or however you do your shredding.
Toss the shredded chicken back in the cooker. Add some garlic powder, some onion flakes, and 1 can cream of chicken soup. Mix, mix, mix.
Even though you want to eat until you tip over at this point, you must turn your cooker on for 1 more hour on low. You can do this. We can do this. I need to do this.
When the chicken has about 10 minutes left, start boiling water. Cook your noodles, and drain them.
It's time.
It is time.
IT. IS. TIME.
Dish yourself up some noodles, mix the chicken in the cooker one more time, scoop yourself a portion of the meaty goodness, and top the bed of noodles with the chicken mix.

Breathe.
Calmly, sit at the table. Serve yourself up a small side salad, and maybe a breadstick. Don't forget your drink. I know all you care about at this point is that steaming pile of yumminess, but we have to take our time.
Say your table prayer. Maybe an extra thanks for this meal today.
Go ahead. Pick up your fork. Scoop up a bite. Slowly indulge yourself with this glorious meal.
You deserved it!
