Hi there.
Hello.
Ola.
Aloha.
Well, I was going to just write about my dinner, and the recipe... but it was so simple, that it needs no explanation. It was pan-cooked cilantro lime chicken, with fresh oranges on the side. Not much to talk about on that one!
Instead, I will write about my 1 year anniversary... with weight-loss.
On June 3rd, 2013, I changed my life. I committed to losing all this weight I had gained. It started with taking Jack on a walk that evening, and logging my food onto MyFitnessPal. That day's entry only shows the Buffalo Wild Wings I ate, along with some fries. That 1 lunch that day totaled 1,328 calories. I can say, that I have not ate that many calories for one meal SINCE.
I lost weight the old-fashioned way: with eating better, and exercising. And with logging it all on MyFitnessPal. Logging my food helped me see what I was doing each day, and I made friends on that site that held me accountable for what I was eating and doing for exercises. June 3rd, 2013 I was 197lbs and it was because I ate whole pizzas and boxes of Cheez-its to myself, and I had a horrible relationship with my couch, and I forgot what running and biking was. I did this to myself.
And all it took was one look in that JCPenney mirror that day, to give me a wake up call.
And thank God that happened, as I am now 34lbs down since! I also have a new love for biking, walking, running, swimming, hiking, dancing, cooking, and baking. Right now and throughout the past year, I was making meals on the healthier side. James, poor James, put up with this for that long. Now, I am starting to cook more traditional meals, but I workout to overcompensate for the yummy goodness of the food I make. I also watch my portions. And make sure to get fruits and veggies in every day. My world is so different.
Not only did I realize I needed to get off the couch, I also realized I was not putting anything out to the world. So now, I am so very involved in the Church and Country School I used to attend. I go to church on Sunday's, even if I have to go alone. I just love the family I am making there with all the members. One of my ambitions in life was to be a regular in the church, and to get my name in the monthly newsletter. Well that happened this month, twice! I was recognized 2 separate times for promoting the school through running their Facebook page. I feel so good to be "one of the team." And my relationship with God is getting stronger than ever.
I am finally becoming the woman I've always wanted to be.
Happy 1 year, self!
PS. I went on a run tonight, ran 1 mile in 11 minutes, 37 seconds. Better than I thought it would be!

It may not be too recognizable to all, but to me, I see it. I feel it. And yes, if that doesn't show my progress, I do have another comparison photo below. Kids, look away...
